Back in early April, I came across a bunch of Trident Maple seeds. Much later in the season than I like to start stratification. I packaged them up and put them in the fridge. Today, almost three months later, I took a look and found that one of the seeds had sprouted a root. Fingers crossed that this one seed was just the first and the others will begin to form roots.

I used a small four inch pot with sphagnum peat moss as the medium. It should be about another week or so before I see the seedling emerge from the soil. I will update with a picture then.

Wow I have never seen that before, I have never tried to grow maples from seeds. Very nice picture!
